French Mas Bayonet (early fifties)
French MAS 49-56 rifle and FAMAS rifle. Minty phosforized plain blade with short false edge. Black plastic hilt fixed to the blade tang by two small spanner bolts. Release catch in hilt with large press stud. Muzzle rings on both pommel and crossguard MRD 22 mm. Crossguard is marked MAT-F. (= Manufacture d'Armes Tulle) Total length 325 mm.
Phosforized correct metal scabbard is marked MAT F in two lines on the reverse of the scabbard throat. Short false edge form. Green leather integral frog fixed with four large rivets to the scabbard body.
Frog with US belt hook and retaining strap.
Rare transitional model
Overal in used but good condition. Great for a bayonet collection.
