Nice grouping of Wehrmacht Officer “Otto Johan Simon” *10.11.1910 +09.11.1972) brother of “Gauleiter Moselland und Chef der Zivilverwaltung in Luxemburg, Gustav Simon (*02.08.1900 +18.12.45)
Otto was “Kreispresseamtleiter” in Ahrweiler, before he became Wehrmacht Officer. This grouping contains his very nice Portrait painting in frame, an Award document from his sport activities. His medals, some of the grenate splitters (fragments) which he suffered combat wounds from in “Normandie, 1944”. And a year book dated “1939” of “Kreis Ahrweiler” with a photograph of his brother the “Gauleiter”
The medals are an Iron Cross first class “1939” (with a wartime repair) Iron Cross second class “1914” on a medal bar together with the so-called “Frontkämpfer medal with swords “1914-1918” plus ribbon bar, Wound badge Black WW2 with swastika but in early WW1 style, a salty NSDAP party badge, DRL sports badge in bronze and gold pre war style, a war merrits cross with swords “1939” an extra “Frondkämpfer medal with swords and a 25 year “Kyffhausser” bund member badge in its original box. Overal a very nice and interesting grouping in good condition.
