British WW2 No77 Phosphorus Handgrenade Case complete with Cartridges and Detonator box
In a very nice condition and extreme rare to find a British WW2 No77 Phosphorus hand grenade case complete with 9 carton made cartridges and the detonator box still inside!
The box is nicely maker marked by F.L/C. and dated February 1945.
The No77 Phosphorus Handgrenade was first introduced in early 1943, containing a phosphorus filling it was originally it was intended for signaling and screening purposes but found greater battlefield value as an anti-personnel / incendiary weapon. It contained 8 ounces of White Phosphorus filling, with an impact fuze. The detonator bursts the grenade, scattering the contents which spontaneously ignites on contact with air.
This complete set makes a stunning display for sure!
