Very nice original postcard portrait photograph of the first non German “Knights Cross” recipiënt “Gerardus Mooyman” photographed by “Heinrich Hoffmann” the personal photographer of “Adolf Hitler”
Gerardus Mooyman was a 19 years old “Dutch” WaffenSS volunteer who took over the command as “SS Rottenfuhrer” when the Officer of there Panzer Jäger unit got killed.
Under his command they destroyed 17 Soviet T34 tanks. An other 6 T34 would be destroyed later in his career. His final rank during his time in the WaffenSS was “SS Untersturmfuhrer” (lieutenant)
