The "PPN 2" was an "Eureka Beacon" it gave a signal for aircraft, so the aircraft did know where to drop paratroopers or supply's
The beacons where placed by "Pathfinders" paratroopers.
In case they had to leave there position, the beacon had an explosive charge, so the pathfinders could destroy the beacon.

Nice little metal can for "Tubunic Ampoules" which is an other word for "Morphia" the can is nicely marked with "AM" which means "Air Ministry"
The metal can was seald when full with a seal. There fore the wholes in the cover and at the front side. it was a part of the first aid kit for "RAF" Air crews. In very good condition.  read more
